THE OWNERS

  • John Charles Crow

    CEO/CO-OWNER

    Mr. Crow received his Bachelor of Business Management from the University of North Alabama in 2015. He began his career as an outside sales representative in the electrical industry, he then became a field electrician for Garnet in 2016 working in a wide range of commercial, industrial and substations sites. He moved into an office position in 2019. His primary responsibilities in addition to project management are corporate safety, fleet, equipment, and tool management. He was named Vice President of Garnet in 2020, to which he was in charge of overseeing the business side of the business. He has now been named CEO and co-owner of Garnet Electric on January 1st, 2022 and is joined in company ownership with Jerrold Skipworth

  • Jerrold Skipworth

    PRESIDENT/CO-OWNER

    Mr. Skipworth joined Garnet in 1993 and has over 35 years of experience in the electrical industry. He served a 5-year apprenticeship training program with Garnet Electric, graduating in 1998. He worked with Garnet as a general foreman for 12 years before becoming a project manager/estimator. He is trained in all aspects of the electrical industry with an emphasis on industrial construction, motor controls, high voltage distribution, telecommunications, and fiber optics. He has attended OSHA training courses as well as many other safety and environmental courses related to the electrical construction industry. He was named General Manager of Operations in 2019 which involves overseeing all the project management and estimation departments, as well as direction of general foreman and other field employees. He became president and co-owner of Garnet Electric January 1st, 2022, and is joined in company ownership with John Charles Crow.

  • Charles Crow

    SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

    Charles joined Garnet Electric in 1976, after gaining several years of industrial experience with Reynolds Metals Company. Mr. Crow is a graduate of Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama, 1971. He has over 53 years’ experience in industrial and commercial/institutional construction. He has attended numerous professional and managerial Courses, including programs in Safety and Health Training. He sold the company in January of 2022 to John Charles Crow and Jerrold Skipworth.

  • Steve Payne

    GENERAL MANAGER/PROJECT MANAGER

    Steve joined Garnet in 1989 and has over 37 years of experience in the electrical industry. He served a five-year apprenticeship training program graduating in 1994. He became a general foreman for Garnet in 1999 before becoming a project manager in 2002. He has been names General Manager as of January 2022. He is trained in all aspects of the electrical industry with emphasis on industrial construction, motor controls, digital control systems and high voltage distribution. He also served 12 years as a Maintenance & Projects Manager for the Tennessee Valley Authority in the power generation industry in three separate technologies including nuclear generated power, gas turbine generated power and fossil fuel generated power. He has been a Safety Peer Team Leader along with championing many safety initiatives during his career with TVA. He championed energy efficiency projects for TVA while working as a liaison with the Department of Energy. As a Maintenance Manager for TVA he acquired training in Environmental Safety, Human Performance Tools, Diversity & Inclusion Training and Lean Sigma Six Yellow Belt Training. He has attended 80 hours of project management training through the PMI Institute.

  • Brandon Harrison

    SUBSTATION PROJECT MANAGER

    Mr. Harrison received his Bachelor of Industrial Design from Auburn University in 2006. His 17 years of experience in the electrical industry began when he was hired at Garnet Electric in 2007. He served a 5-year apprenticeship at various commercial and industrial sites with Garnet Electric, graduating in 2012. He then spent the majority of his time working on substation construction projects. In 2016 he was promoted to Project manager/ Estimator. He has experience in a wide variety of electrical construction including commercial and industrial construction, telecommunications, medium and high voltage installations, and substation construction.

  • Tony Parker

    PROJECT MANAGER

    Tony has over 25 years of experience in the Industrial electrical field. He started as a maintenance electrician for Buckeye Technologies in 1994 and moved over to construction in 2008. He has worked in the Pulp and Paper Industry for most of his career and has been in Project Management since 2014. He has been with Garnet Electric since 2021 as a Project Manager.

  • Justin Wilkinson

    WAREHOUSE/PROJECT MANAGER

    Justin has been with Garnet Electric since 2012. He has a wide array of responsibilities such as procure and maintain common materials for job sites and our warehouse, coordinate deliveries and inventory movement from warehouse and supply houses. In addition to his other roles he is responsible for the fleet trucks and routine equipment maintenance.

  • Samantha Noceda

    Senior Accountant

    Samantha has been with Garnet since 2022. She has her associates degree in business from Harold Washington in Chicago Illinois. She is a graduate of The University of North Alabama in 2021 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Samantha oversees Garnets full-service in-house accounting department and is responsible for all day-to-day operations, production of financial reports, and preparation for annual audits. Samantha also oversees reporting Union deductions, and Fringes for Unions all over the south to make sure our union members’ benefits are accurate, and properly handled.

  • Connie Kilgoar

    AP Clerk

    Connie has been with Garnet since 2023. She is responsible for all day-to-day Accounts Payable duties. Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records. Ensure the accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes. Input daily bookkeeping and record keeping while preparing vouchers listing invoice number, date, vendor address, item description, amounts and coding per accounting policies and procedures. Connie has over 25 years of experience working in the accounting and procurement fields

  • Margo Terrell

    Payroll Clerk/AR Clerk

    Margo has been with Garnet since 2023. She graduated from the University of North Alabama majoring in accounting and minoring in English literature and writing. She is responsible for processing all accounts receivable inquiries, invoicing to our customers for both contract and T&M projects, collaborating with customers to resolve discrepancies, collections, and sales reporting. In addition, she collaborates closely with our company project managers to check and compare budgeted versus actual costs, analyzes inaccuracies, and prepares weekly and monthly sales reports for management. Experienced in the process of all field employee’s payroll, solving problems concerning payroll, answering inquiries, and enforcing payroll policies. Proficient in ensuring proper payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.

  • Bethany Beck

    Receptionist

    Bethany has been with Garnet since 2023. She welcomes guests and answers incoming calls, redirecting them as needed. Bethany prepares and manages outgoing mail, updates company records, and manages project files while assisting our accounting staff with various tasks as needed.
